Assistant Coach Brandon Hodges

Coach Hodges is currently a Physical Education Teacher at Wintergreen Primary in Greenville NC. He has over 24 years of coaching experience at various levels of baseball. Coaching from Little League, high school and the collegiate ranks. His prep career started as an All-Conference player at Hertford County High School. Then he continued his playing career at Lenior Community College. After Coach Hodges hung the cleats up he still had the desire to give back to the game of baseball that had been so good to him. He then returned home to be the Assistant Coach of the Ahoskie Post 102 American Legion team for 2 years. With a short stint as a travel ball coach he was offered a position at his alma matter as an assistant baseball coach in charge of developing pitchers. During this time, he had several players receive scholarships to pitch in college and one of his players was drafted by the Chicago White Sox.
Coach Hodges was eventually promoted to the head coaching job where in his first year he led the baseball program to the winningest record in Hertford County High School history. His success at this level gave him the opportunity to move on to the collegiate ranks as the pitching coach for the next 2 years at Pitt Community College. Missing the development of the high school player he returned to the prep level for the next 15 years as a pitching coach where he helped The Oakwood School to a state championship and was also a part of a state championship with Post 39 American Legion team.
Coach Hodges has taken this spring off for the first time in many years so he can watch his son start his high school playing career and spend more time with his family. He is proud to say he has been happily married for the last 20 years to Anna Hodges and the father of two beautiful children Isaac and Cali. Finally, starting this summer he will spend the next chapter of his coach career as the Tarboro River Bandits pitching coach. Go River Bandits!!!
