Chris Day is entering his second full season as head coach of the Tarboro River Bandits after leading the program to a 38–8 record and a league championship in his first full season at the helm. He is focused on building a tough, disciplined team that takes pride in representing the Edgecombe County community.

He also serves as the pitching coach at Southwest Edgecombe High School, where he has spent the past four years developing pitchers and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field.

Before his time at Southwest Edgecombe, Chris Day served as a graduate assistant and head developmental team coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College following a career ending elbow injury prior to the 2022 season. In that role, he worked closely with collegiate athletes, focusing on player development and fundamentals. This is where he found his love and passion for coaching the sport.

A former pitcher himself. Day played at North Carolina Wesleyan from 2017 to 2021. He brings a player’s perspective to his coaching style, emphasizing accountability, preparation, and competition. He is committed to developing his players and building strong connections within the community.

Day and his staff are excited to compete and continue building on the program’s success, with the goal of bringing another championship back to Tarboro.
